Make no mistake they had their share of female listeners too. Jessica was part of the wild "Motor City Middays" program. Now Mark and Jessica team up and bring their highly charged energy, experience, enthusiasm, and style to the greatest entertainment city in America...LAS VEGAS!!!!!!!!
JESSICA HALL'S BIO
Jessica Hall is a Detroit native who began her radio career when she attended Specs Howard School OF Media Arts at the early age of 18 after some of Detroit's biggest names in radio encouraged her to get into the business. She began her internship at the CBS FM TALK Power House WKRK. After she graduated she was immediately hired for a new midday show. Motor City Middays was a perfect fit and Jessica started a 5 year stretch of great ratings and recognition with Motor City Middays. Known for her character voices, crazy stories, eclectic music taste, and signature style, her work on 97.1 WKRK contributed to great success following Howard Stern in the mornings.
Jessica was also the lead singer for Motor City Middays popular MCM5 Rock Band which played packed gigs throughout metro Detroit. While working at 97.1 Hall also was given the lead in four indie horror films. Her first, Mr. Jingles, was a success. Lionsgate purchased the distribution rights and Mr. Jingles has been on sale worldwide since the summer of 2006. The other three films have been released over seas. Her film credits can be found on IMDB. Jessica has also been a part of numerous television and commercial projects in the Detroit area. Jessica is not afraid to do what it takes to get the job done in the entertainment world. She IS very capable at causing a "BUZZ" in whatever she does.
After WKRK switched formats, Jessica went to Austin, TX to co-host on KVET "The Station Of The Longhorns" and Clear Channel Affiliate. After realizing sports was not a good fit for her, Jessica returned to Detroit to work on a new project with Mark Wilson. Jessica has also recently done sometime guest co-hosting on the nationally syndicated Mancows Morning Madhouse.
Jessica LOVES Las Vegas and is looking forward to being a part of the Vegas community. Her celebrity interviews and trips to various movie premiers have been highly received. It all adds up to someone who will be big time with the listeners of Las Vegas. She is determined to make it happen in the Mojave Valley!
MARK "THE MAN" WILSON BIO
Mark "The Man" Wilson has been a winner at each of his stops along his TV/radio journey. Having built his brand at Michigan State University, this former ballplayer began his career working for Lansing Michigan's "Dean Of Sports", Tim Staudt. At the young age of 23, he set off for Miami, Florida where he anchored and reported sports on legendary station WTVJ with Hall of Fame newsman Ralph Renick. Mark was one of the first contributors to ESPN "Sports Center" and continued in that role for two decades.
Mark began his radio career while in college. He was the sports director at campus radio WMSN. Fielding a staff of over thirty budding reporters, Mark saw many go on to fine careers. One of those he mentored is current Cleveland Cavaliers owner and mortgage maven Dan Gilbert. Mark DJ'ed at various stations and was the production director at WVIC radio in Lansing, Michigan. Mark also co-hosted a unique call-in sports show "Sports Line" with former MSU football player Skip Macholz. The show was done on location in the early 1980's, long before sports radio became a market staple.
After returning to Michigan's capital city, Mark continued his semi-pro baseball career along with his television work at WILX (NBC) and WLAJ (ABC). It was at WLAJ that he caught the eye of Detroit CBS affiliate WJBK. Hired as the stations "Number 3" reporter, Mark quickly climbed his way up to become sports director and the main sports anchor when WJBK was part of the now infamous FOX change-over. Six times Mark won Michigan's "Best Sportscast" award from the Associated Press and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. The FOX Network used Wilson's entertaining style as the premier example for other Fox sports anchors to emulate.
Offered a spot as the lead on the first-ever WDFN Radio morning show in 1994, Mark finally succumbed in 1997 and joined Detroit's original sports station. This event came in conjunction with the Detroit Red Wings run to their first Stanley Cup championship in 42 years. In 1998, Wilson teamed with ESPN's Rob Parker to create the "Parker And The Man" Show. The show lasted ten years on three different radio outlets. "Parker And The Man's" eight year run at WKRK was part of the model for FM talk in the United States. Making it to #1 was a benchmark in that era.
Wilson and Parker took their night time duties from scratch and make it a money-maker. Advertisers found GREAT success with the program. WKRK was billing record numbers in revenue AND ratings. When the station acquired the broadcast rights to Detroit Lions football, it hit another level. Hosting the pre and post game shows, "Parker and The Man" had the respect of the lions brass to "tell it like it was". They pulled no punches in what became one of the worst decades for a team in NFL history. Listeners and advertisers ate it up. The ratings numbers proved it.
Big companies like Budweiser, Metro PCS, and Rock Financial (Quicken Loans), were major sponsors. Ironically, Rock Financial is owned by Wilson's former MSU classmate Dan Gilbert. Places that never used to advertise before, jumped on board the "Parker and the Man" train.
Mark has also done play by play and various "Coaches Shows". Mark hosted the Jud Heathcote Michigan State University Basketball show for a dozen years and hit a crescendo with the "Steve Mariucci Lions Show". Wilson also hosted the "Dre Bly Show" with the All-Pro Lions cornerback. On top of that, Mark spent five years as the TV color analyst for Lansing Lugnuts Baseball; the Single-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs. Mark has also done fill-in work for the Sporting News Radio Network. His efforts as TV co-host of the Detroit edition of the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon have helped net millions of dollars for Muscular Dystrophy.
In print, Mark has appeared in several publications including "Baseball Digest", "Sport Magazine", and various local newspapers. Online he was in on the ground floor of "yournews.com" with a column and blog along with web cam previews that can be seen all over YouTube. Mark is very accomplished in new media and social networks.
